Rafee Al-Mansur is a Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy practicing in McLean, Virginia. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University, and his Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland. From 2015 to 2017, he interned at the Center for Healthy Families where he conducted over 700 hours of individual, couple, and family therapy, culminating in the honor of receiving the Jennifer Becker Carswell Award for excellence in clinical work.
His training specializes in systemic models of therapy, which looks into interactional patterns and dynamics between family members that perpetuate struggles for both individuals and the family as a whole.
Rafee’s passion is in facilitating healthy communication in couples, and using his training to identify hidden themes and cycles that prevent couples from enjoying a committed and loving relationship. In addition to his private practice, Rafee is also a facilitator with the Together Program, an 8-week workshop on how couples can cope with financial stress together. More information on this free workshop is available at www.TogetherProgram.org
Rafee also provides individual therapy to both adults and adolescents, and has most experience working with social and generalized anxiety, depression, negative thought patterns, grief, sexual and emotional abuse, anger management, and ADHD. He is able to integrate spirituality and religion into therapy sessions if it is something that his clients are seeking. And he is also fluent in conversational Bangla/Bengali.
